Wanted to say hey and also thanks to a couple Portland zines, particularly the Mercury and Willamette Week (Casey Jarman) for writing about us this past week for our up and coming CD release this coming Wednesday (August 20th) at the Doug Fir. We are still getting ready for the road, rehearsing and trying to get some sleep here and there. I bought a new stereo for the van, which I am stoked about. It has an auxiliary input for an I pod on it (yes this means I have finally come into the 21st century), which is great. That means less cd’s taking up space and giving us more room for palates and cotton pickers/ jumping Jim’s or Jack’s or whatever the F you call them. New T-shirts will be in shortly so if you are naked and in need of clothing (i.e. T shirts) when we see you we will have them. We may also have bread and water but that is TBD. A shout and congrats to Larry Crane on his second Tape Op book being out. He just had a book reading here in town at Powell’s, which we went to in between rehearsal. He did a great job but he wouldn’t answer my question which was how do you record a Trombone if it is Rusty? Or moreover how do you record a Rusty Trombone? I guess we will never fully know. So that’s all I am going to say besides- come to the Doug Fir this Wednesday and we will give you back the rock- not fake rock- the real deal. Here are said articles and a couple more. love
